It’s time for my second progress report. Yay!

Before I get to the report, I must mention that my week started off with a visit from my four-legged friends from next door…the cows. Yet again, they escaped the confines of their field and ended up in my front yard where they left cow patties everywhere. How nice of them! There’s nothing like the scent of fresh cow poop first thing in the morning to get you up and going.

Now back to this week’s progress report. To be honest, it’s not nearly as impressive as last week’s. Far from it, in fact.

My main source of income took the front seat this week since I had to prep for a meeting that occurred this past Friday. I worked twice as many hours as normal to make sure I was prepared for the meeting. So, in other words, I got diddly squat done on my writing.

So here’s what I did accomplish in addition to my Take 2 work:

  • Worked between one and two hours each day on TQA at Demand Studios
  • Wrote 1,000 words for my current short story
  • Started two LD articles that I need to finish within the next day or so
  • Promoted my site and Examiner

See, I told you it wasn’t an impressive list. Unfortunately, though, I’m going to have weeks like this because I do have responsibilities that must come before my personal writing. It sucks, but that’s life.

I should also mention, though, that this week wasn’t all about work. I did get to spend some quality time with my children, which is very important to me. Friday night we took them to Wells Beach with the mini beagles, Chloe and Sadie. The water was cold, but the kids didn’t care. I did, though. By the time we left, my feet were hurting.

And yesterday, we took the kids to Lowes so they both could build a monster truck, and in the afternoon, my mom and I took them to the park to play. Good times!

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. I did manage to squeeze in some chat time with my TCA buddies on Wednesday night, which I desperately needed. My mind needed a break and a chat with all of them was just what the doctor ordered.

Last night we all met up again to watch our girl Veronica record a new installment for The Ballad of Iron Percy podcast. Veronica, as always, was awesome. But after she finished recording, the chat quickly went downhill as it usually does at some point. I’m not sure how the conversation turned to porpoise sex, but it did. I think Acadia’s to blame. We all had a bunch of laughs, though, and were left with the echoes of Melzer’s sound effects swimming around in our brains.

AHHH! The smell of cow poop in the morning! I miss my youth at the farm, helping my grandfather shovel the stalls.. You are so lucky.

  3. Nikki says:

Well, Pat, if you’re super desperate, I can FedEx you some steaming hot, fresh poop. It won’t be fresh when it gets there, but you could throw it on the ground and shovel it.

Or better yet, why don’t we market a cow poop candle? Maybe there’s a call for it.

    Acadia is always to blame.

  5. Nikki says:

That’s what I thought, which is why I blamed him for that post on SG. He’s always up to something.

I’m SO glad that you’re enjoying the live readings. I think I’m going to take note from you and Jenny and do a weekly heads-up at my own site. It seems like a great way to hold yourself accountable and promote your own projects.

  7. Jenny Beans says:

You are doing such amazing things, and I love the idea of keeping yourself in check like this. For me,k it really makes a huge difference.

  8. Nikki says:

It does make a huge difference. It helps me to see how much I’ve accomplished in one week. It’s easy to lose sight of one’s accomplishments.

  9. Nikki says:

The readings are so much fun. You have an amazing voice. You guys have opened me up to this whole new world of creativity, and I love it. You make me want to experience it all. Of course, I need to stop worrying so much before I do. But this year will be a time of change, a time of rebirth, so who knows what I’ll accomplish this coming year. So keep sharing with us. You’re inspiring me.
